WiFi QR codes use the WIFI: URI scheme standardized by the Wi-Fi Alliance. When a smartphone camera reads this QR, the OS interprets the network name, password, and encryption type and presents a "Join Network" dialog. The user taps join — that's it. No typing, no mistakes, no "Is it capital B or lowercase?" frustration. The format supports WPA, WPA2, WPA3, WEP, and even open (unsecured) networks.

Cafés: Tabletop card, menu footer, or near the counter. Co-working spaces: At each desk and in meeting rooms. Hotels: Bedside card and bathroom mirror. Retail shops: Near fitting rooms and checkout areas. Conference rooms: On a mounted card or whiteboard. Airbnb/vacation rentals: Welcome pack on the kitchen table.

If a device fails to connect after scanning: double-check the SSID is spelled exactly as it appears in network settings (case-sensitive). Verify the password is correct before generating. If your network uses a special captive portal login page, a standard WiFi QR code won't bypass that — use a URL QR code pointing to the portal. Some older Android devices (pre-Android 9) require a third-party QR scanning app.
